Top Drawer – September 2014 – London
We were impressed with the talent exhibiting at Top Drawer London this September noticing strong contenders in the industry and trends that are bound to make our year much more colourful and interesting. With over 900 exhibitors showcasing their collections in the stunning London Olympia, it is an understatement to say we were buzzing with excitement at seeing all the amazing work that’s being produced and being surrounded with buyers from the industry. Some of these buyers included Achica, Anthropologie, Designers Guild, Graham and Brown, Harrods, Paperchase and Topshop to name but a few!
This year was also the first autumn edition for the Home exhibition, which runs alongside Top Drawer at London Olympia. For those of you who have not had the opportunity to attend these shows it’s useful to know that the combination of these buying events offer visitors to the show a true insight into the design-led gifts, lifestyle and fashion accessories departments. The exhibitions take place at a key buying time for clients and attendees can quickly pick up on the trends being set for the year/seasons ahead.
What a lovely sunny weather we had in London during our visit to Top Drawer, yet when we stepped right into the trade show some stalls transformed you through time to… Christmas! There were a variety of warm and festive designs and products, it was easy to get distracted and start mentally writing your Xmas list right there!
The Home section at Top Drawer offered up some hand-picked talent not just from the UK but also some real international talents. I was very tempting to keep adding to that Xmas list I comprised earlier in my head.
A firm favourite to keep us all light hearted (and help us escape the reminder of Christmas approaching) is the gift section with the vast range of quirky and cool cards that made us have a jolly good giggle. There is no inspiration like laughter!
All in all it was a fantastic and inspirational day in the capital at Top Drawer, and we return with fresh ideas and new friends.
